Assessment Findings
- Shaking
- Diaphoresis
- Anxiety
- Dizziness
- Hunger
- Tachycardia
- Impaired Vision
- Weakness, Fatigue
- Headache
- Irritability
Management
- Simple sugars p.o.: soft drinks, fruit juice, candies, table sugar, pure honey, karo syrup, carbohydrate foods (bread, rice, crackers)
- D50W 20-50 ml IV push if unconscious, or 1 mg of glucagon.
- Evaluate effect of management and adjust accordingly.
